Historically held every autumn, the newly launched spring edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena was a resounding success.
Held last weekend, the spring edition of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena welcomed more than 3,000 visitors – including brides and grooms-to-be, along with their friends and family.
The show hosted more than 130 local suppliers – from florists, photographers and transport providers, to bridal boutiques, stationers and venues.
"As a seasoned photographer and exhibitor with 16 wedding fairs booked for 2017, I have to say that Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint in both March and October are the principal shows in my calendar. The weekend was an outstanding success for me, with nine weddings booked in Devon, Cornwall, The Lakes and New Zealand. I thank all that waited patiently to tell me about their day and to the brides that booked me as their wedding photographer." Nick Pearce, Nick Pearce Photography
“I had a fabulous and very busy weekend at The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena. There was a wonderful vibrant atmosphere and masses of excited brides, grooms, their families and friends enjoying the experience, giving me the opportunity to show them my hats and headdresses. A brilliant couple of days.” Dorothy Morant, Designer Maker at Dorothy Morant Millinery
Goody bags were gifted to the first 100 brides through the door on both days of the event, while the first 100 mothers of the bride or groom to arrive on Sunday 26th March received a mini bottle of prosecco to celebrate Mother’s Day.
There were complimentary copies of South West Bride magazine, as well as show-exclusive deals, discounts and competitions to enter.
Those looking for inspiration to fulfil a vintage wedding theme were offered ideas aplenty in the dedicated Vintage & Handmade Area which featured a stunning VW campervan photobooth from Vintage Camper Booths and free ice cream samples from The Cowlick Creamery.
Show-goers delighted in the catwalk which ran at three times daily and featured the latest fashions in bridal gowns, bridesmaids’ dresses, occasionwear and menswear. Taking to the catwalk this season was: Prudence Gowns, Pirouette, Jonathan Hawkes, Youngs Hire, Isabelle Montagu, The Bridal Emporium, Jane’s of Torquay and John Lewis. And the entertainment didn’t stop there, as Blue Lion Band took to the café stage to amuse audiences in the dining area – delivered by Posh Nosh.
“It’s been good. The catwalk was fantastic. Prudence Gowns was my favourite potential supplier for my wedding dress. The DJ, Richards Time Machine, was brilliant; I wasn’t even thinking about a DJ, but now I am. I think most of my suppliers will come from this event.” Katherine Jordan, Bride-to-be from Saltash
Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena returns this autumn, October 7-8, 2017.
