On Thursday 3 November, the EDP hosted their 26th annual Business Awards - attended by over 450 guests from 100 local businesses, at the Norfolk Showground in Norwich.
Launched in 1990, the awards are a way of celebrating the achievements of individual companies, as well as showcasing the region’s economic strength and depth.
Guests enjoyed a drinks reception, three-course meal and an after dinner speech from former head of MI5 Baroness Manningham-Buller. The whole room was inspired by her speech, which revealed secrets of effective leadership, people skills and management in the public eye. Afterwards the floor was opened up for questions, where the audience had the opportunity to ask her anything they wanted.
The 15 awards, which underpinned the growth story of this year’s ceremony, went to an array of Norfolk businesses - from early stage start ups and community-owned business, to established companies from across the EDP circulation area.
The winner of Business of the Year, along with two other awards, was Epos Now - a Norwich-based point of sales business which works with companies such as Disney, Jaguar and Land Rover.
Other winners included CVS Group, Lisa Angel and Naked Wines.
