Archant Print has been shortlisted in the prestigious Print Week awards as Newspaper Printers of the Year for the second year running and is up against the publishers of the Mirror, The Independent and the Racing Post.
Last year the Archant Print division was named as runner-up for its contract printing of Bauer Media weekly trade titles, MCN (MotorCycleNews), Angling Times and Classic Car Weekly.
Clive Want, Director of Thorpe Print Centre, said: “Although being highly commended last year was a great achievement for everyone at Thorpe, coming second is just not quite the same. This year we are up against Trinity Mirror Watford, last year winners, and Trinity Mirror Teesside and Newbury Weekly News.
“It would be a fantastic achievement if Archant Print were to win this award, and so rightly deserved. The team do a great job every night and day throughout the year so this award would be the icing on the cake for them.
“We have already picked up the Niche Market Newspaper Printer of the Year award and commended in the Newspaper Printer of the Year category at the Newspaper Awards earlier in the year. Archant Print was also presented with a ‘Gold Award’ by RoSPA for the great work we’ve done to help reduce accidents at Thorpe. So fingers crossed.”
