Archant has appointed Steve Anglesey to the newly created position of Group Digital Content Director, to lead the digital content strategy across its full portfolio of newspapers, magazines, websites, apps and TV.
Steve will be responsible for the accelerated delivery of Archant’s digital content. He will report into Matt Kelly, who joined Archant as Chief Content Officer in November last year.
Matt Kelly said: “Steve’s appointment shows our continued commitment to being a relevant, audience-first publisher in our communities, be they geographical or by interest. He has terrific experience in digital publishing with a long and successful track record in delivering highly engaged digital audiences. This is a big appointment for us and we’re delighted to have landed someone with such proven capabilities.”
Most recently Steve held the Digital Content Director position at Local World, joining in November 2014. Before that, Steve worked at Trinity Mirror for seven years, holding senior roles including Head of Digital Business Development and Publisher of Mirror Group Digital.
Steve has nearly thirty years of journalistic experience, including positions as Assistant Sports Editor at the Daily Mirror and Editor of Mirror.co.uk. Steve began his digital career in 1998 on the pioneering website Football365 of which he was part of the launch team.

Steve will start his new role on April 11 and will be primarily based at Archant’s headquarters in Norwich.
