Archant announces editorial promotions

Archant is pleased to announce a number of editorial promotions following the launch of its ‘Engage and Grow’ strategy earlier this year.

David Powles, Head of Archant’s award winning Investigations Unit, has been appointed as the Editor of both the Norwich Evening News and the Norwich Advertiser weekly newspaper. He will retain an overview of the Investigations Unit until a successor has been appointed.

Archant’s Head of Editorial Production, Mark Hindle, has been appointed into the new role of Director of Central Content and Production – where he will be working to increase the quality and relevance of Archant’s products, both in print and digital.

Mustard Editor Rob Setchell, has been appointed as Head of Content for Mustard TV – working alongside Archant’s editorial departments to provide essential video content which is increasing in demand from both audiences and advertisers.

Mark and Rob will report directly into Chief Content Officer Matt Kelly and David will report into Nigel Pickover, Editor-in-Chief of Archant’s Norfolk newspaper division.

Archant is also recruiting for an Editor for the Ipswich Star, which is currently overseen by East Anglian Daily Times editor Terry Hunt.

Commenting on the recent promotions, Archant’s Chief Content Officer Matt Kelly said “As our audience's demand for quality content across all platforms develops, so we too must change.

“These appointments underscore our continued commitment to creating relevant, engaging content - and help move us towards becoming the best local media company in the UK."
