Senior Reporter – One Month December Contract, Exeter

We are in urgent need of a senior reporter to work throughout the month of December in our busy newsroom in Exeter offering the editorial team the support they need. You will mostly be working with our much-loved title the Sidmouth Herald contributing stories and content that is interesting, informative and most of all engaging.

You will have a flair for and enjoy creating content which is engaging for all platforms – websites, print and mobile. On occasion you may need to produce video and pictures to engage audiences with digital content that is lively and current. You will be given scope to find your own news as well as working on stories as directed by the senior editorial team.

Ideally we are looking for someone full time but would consider part-time applications that can commit to the whole month of December.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL IDEALLY HAVE:

• Reporter/journalism experience
• Previous newspaper/newsroom experience
• Ability to produce sparkling copy for our newspapers and websites
• Good knowledge of the local area (desirable)
• Ability to produce video and picture content
• Excellent news judgement
• Ideas for print and digital platforms
• Full valid driving licence
