Why do you like working for Archant?

Archant is a great place to work for so many reasons. I really enjoy our total customer focus, the way in which we embrace change in a positive manner, how we encourage innovation and development and of course I work with a great bunch of people making it fun along the way. Our industry is evolving quickly, as are we, which will ensure that our brands remain as relevant in the future as they are now.

What is the most interesting part about your job?

All the new opportunities, whether that’s digital platforms, database opportunities, mobile sites or maximising sales of our print products. My day is so varied, it couldn't fail to be interesting.

What are the challenges?

All the new opportunities! They seem to present themselves almost weekly so trying to work out which ones will have maximum impact is always a challenge. Having great people to work with helps of course, we have real experts in the respective functions making the challenge much easier than it would otherwise be by working as a team.

What is it about the media industry that made you want to be in this role?

I love the media industry because it is so varied. In the “good old days” it was all about printed product and whilst that is still a huge part of our product mix there’s now websites, apps, e-editions, database marketing and soon TV all coming along which makes delivering an audience for advertisers more interesting than ever.

Give us an interesting fact about yourself.

I’m originally from Hull and secretly an avid Hull City supporter but I don’t make a big thing of it particularly when discussing Norwich City or Ipswich Town!
