A rare opportunity has arisen to take the helm at one of East Anglia’s most well-known and cherished newspaper titles – East Anglian Daily Times.

The East Anglian Daily Times has been part of the Suffolk community since 1874 and is a one of Archant’s flagship newspapers.

This is a high-visibility role both internally and externally, requiring gravitas, tact and strong interpersonal skills. We are seeking a true ambassador for the EADT and Archant.

This is a superb long-term career move for an experienced media professional and engaging motivational leader. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of regional media and embrace the changing landscape.

Reporting directly to the Group Content Director for East Anglia you will have an in-depth knowledge of Suffolk and a real passion for the county, understanding the people, places and issues which make it tick. You will be responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with key community authorities and organisations; and ensuring members of your team do the same.

Previous experience as an editor is essential along with the ability to demonstrate an understanding and capability regarding the demands of this role. It is our expectation that the successful applicant for this post will live in Suffolk.

The successful applicant will have overall responsibility for all EADT brand content, its associated publications and related online material, working to the company’s agreed strategic content objectives.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to embrace and understand the publishing opportunities offered through online platforms and social media.

You must be able to develop and nurture close relationships with the commercial, circulation and marketing teams to ensure business objectives are met and to explore and implement new product developments.
