Do you care about what goes on around you and wish your community had a louder voice? Do you want to make a difference? The Community News Project needs you!

A partnership between Facebook, local news publishers and the National Council for the Training of Journalists has enabled us to offer these fantastic opportunities.

Here at Archant Norfolk, home of the EDP, we are looking to hire two Community Reporters on a two-year fixed-term contract. We want applications from people who care about the communities of Fakenham and Downham Market, and want to make a difference in those places.

Previous journalism experience or education is not essential but you will have a passion/natural aptitude in this area. We’re especially keen to hear from people who believe they can help make our newsrooms more representative of these communities.

You will be publishing packages of content to a high standard, writing headlines and uploading words, pictures, video and audio that you have sourced. Providing insight to the wider newsroom about the issues and concerns of specific communities will be an important part of the role.

TRAINING

You will receive industry-leading digital journalism training which you will then share into your newsrooms, as well as the gold-standard NCTJ journalism training to become a fully trained journalist.
