Are you a senior reporter looking to take the first step in management while continuing to report on key issues within a community? We are looking for an experienced and ambitious journalist to take the lead in supporting the editor of the prestigious Comet Series media operation.
We want someone who understands the challenges of producing insightful and in-depth journalism across whatever platform our audience chooses to engage, can inspire and educate young reporters, and is prepared to represent the brand as an ambassador in the community.
We are looking for a self-starter with drive and enthusiasm, who is keen to begin the next step of their career overseeing the operations across titles in North Herts. They will help to shape the brands’ content across all platforms, and adhere to our policy of putting our audience first in everything we do.
We are keen on recruiting someone who will be comfortable utilising social media in news gathering and engaging readers, has a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of English local government, appreciates the benefits of video as a way of telling stories, and is aware that the best stories never fall into your lap.
It is essential that you will have passed the NQJ senior examinations or equivalent, and are in possession of a full valid driving licence. We are looking for outstanding candidates who are comfortable reporting on all aspects of community life, boast a fantastic grasp of digital publishing, and have a wealth of strong ideas and a portfolio bulging with first-rate stories.
The successful candidate must be prepared to move onto the patch before beginning their employment.
