Living France magazine is the UK’s leading monthly consumer title for those who live, or dream of living, in France.
This role requires you to design and layout the editorial content of the magazine and any supplements and advertorial pages needed, help develop the magazine’s design, keeping ideas fresh and contemporary. You will work closely with the Editor and with the production department to ensure the magazine goes to print on time.
• In close co-operation with the Editor of Living France magazine, to evolve a clear vision of the brand values and market position of the magazine. • Design the magazine to a standard that embodies the vision clearly, consistently and to the highest possible quality. • To ensure, in close collaboration with the production department, that the magazine goes to print on time. • Picture research and commissioning of illustrations within the allocated budget.
The Art Editor needs to be extremely organised and work well under pressure. He/she has to be a good communicator and able to work well in a small team. It is essential that the Art Editor is very creative and resourceful and able to maintain the highest possible design and production standards. A knowledge of France is also desirable.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in graphic design.
• At least two years’ experience of designing pages in a magazine environment or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator. • Good knowledge of photo libraries and picture research. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Please note, this is a full-time role based in our Cheltenham office.
