We are currently recruiting for an experienced Account Manager to work alongside our key motoring clients based at our Ipswich office, with regular travel in and around Ipswich, Halesworth, Felixstowe and all points in between. The East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star are just some of the strong local brands that you have the opportunity to promote in this role.

This exciting career opportunity will see you growing new accounts as well as taking existing high-value relationships and developing them further. This opportunity is focused entirely on our motoring portfolio; you will be meeting proprietors/owners of car dealerships, alongside senior mangers and franchisees of national organisations. You will need to understand their marketing/advertising plans and ensure that their current advertising campaigns grow in success.

We are looking for an experienced sales professional who has a proven track record in a business-to-business sales role. You will have the self-confidence to approach new business and the intelligence to develop a deep understanding of the portfolio of products. You will need to be a highly creative, dynamic and innovative individual who can successfully combine an understanding of what drives successful multi-platform advertising campaigns with a desire to learn about the motors industry, how it works and the key issues which affect it.

As an Account Manager you will be focused on new business sales, targeting and working within a diverse array of companies within the motor industry, advising them on the best ways to attract new customers through our tried-and-tested range of advertising services – from powerful display advertising and timely advertorial guides to social media marketing and strong digital engagement opportunities.

You will devise creative client campaign ideas and negotiate and win contracts, managing and growing your accounts on an ongoing basis. You will be a key team member, taking part in lively weekly internal sales meetings, feeding back vital knowledge gained in the field and contributing winning ideas – ultimately making a valuable and immediate contribution to the company’s growth, while inspiring more junior sales team members by example.


  • Proven sales experience
  • Working knowledge of print and digital solutions
  • Strong B2B sales background
  • Proven track record in selling to SMEs/professional businesses
  • Excellent business acumen, able to converse well with senior contacts
  • Ability to build networks at functions and through social media
  • Advertising/marketing/local media knowledge or background
  • Preference to win new business and create own leads
  • Ability to work well with editors and business writers
  • Ability to create inspiring campaigns and advertising solutions


  • Basic salary of up to £22,000
  • Achievable monthly commission structure and on-target earnings of £8,400
