Archant creates pan-London magazine brand with 16 local titles

Archant London, the capital’s largest publisher of local luxury magazines, has rebranded its established portfolio of 16 lifestyle titles to create one pan-London brand called 'The Resident'.

The established titles, including The Angel, Living North, The Grove and South West, will retain their local content, while adopting the Resident brand, chosen from the original The Resident title in Kensington and Chelsea, which is just celebrating its 20th anniversary.

To coincide with the rebrand, the titles have had significant investment in design, editorial, production quality and in their digital platforms. All are now available at the Apple Newsstand and on all smart phones.

Content includes neighbourhood news, a going out guide, homes and interiors, education, fashion, health and beauty, food and drink and travel. High profile contributors include leading food writer Tom Parker Bowles, and interiors expert Judith Wilson.

Archant London Managing Director, Will Hattam, said: “Bringing our titles together seemed like the natural thing to do to clearly communicate our unique scale and credibility in the market place.

“It also makes sense that we draw upon the strengths of the Archant group to develop the product in print and provide our clients with greater opportunities including a full multi-media brand offering. Alongside this investment, we have brought much-needed regulation and accountability to the market providing independently audited figures on both our print runs and distribution.

Vicky Mayer, Editor in Chief, said: “We are delighted with the new look of our magazines. We have created a sophisticated new look for our portfolio of luxury lifestyle titles, with fresh new design, a refined colour palette and strong imagery.

“We pride ourselves on delivering the best editorial content in our market, written by our team of talented and dedicated journalists who know their audiences and areas inside out.”

Existing local editors and sales teams will remain in place. The Resident rebrand will be supported with an above and below the line promotional campaign to include trade press and outdoor activity.

The titles in the portfolio are the Resident, SW Resident, The Green Resident, Living South Resident, SW19 Resident, Living North Resident, Westside Resident, The Guide Resident, The Grove Resident, The Fulham Resident, The Angel Resident, The Chiswick Resident, The Richmond Resident, The Mayfair Resident, Northwest Resident and The Hill.
