Archant’s first pop-up newspaper, The New European, has been recognised across four different categories at the annual British Media Awards - which were held in London last night.
The British Media Awards honours media organisations throughout the country and recognises excellence across all arms of media business – from commercial to editorial, print and digital properties.
The New European, which has received wide acclaim since its launch in July 2016, was awarded with four prizes including Launch of the Year (Gold), Print Product of the Year (Silver) and Content Team of the Year (Bronze). The final prize went to The New European’s editor Matt Kelly, who was presented with the prestigious ‘Pioneer of the Year’ award at the end of the evening.
"The New European symbolises Archant at its best - it is a product of the entire company working together brilliantly with great technical expertise and creative flair.
"That our efforts have been recognised at the highest level, both in the British Media Awards and the Society of Editors Awards where we won the prestigious Chairman's Award, is most encouraging" said Matt Kelly.
Other big winners on the night included News UK, BBC, Time Inc UK, Upday for Samsung and Dennis Publishing – with The Financial Times being crowned both Media Company of the Year and Media Brand of the Year.
