On Thursday 21 January, over 100 senior managers from around Archant met at Norwich Castle for the annual management conference and the launch of the Archant’s 2016 strategy - Engage and Grow.
The delegates heard Chief Executive Jeff Henry give an overview of 2015 – sharing details of a successful year including positive financial performances, industry leading circulation figures, new senior appointments and a focus throughout the year on making Archant’s core business robust.
This presentation was followed by Archant’s Chief Content Officer Matt Kelly, Chief Commercial Officer Craig Nayman and Chief Marketing Officer Will Hattam who outlined exciting new initiatives for 2016 including an audience-first strategy for the company’s products and content - with a focus on becoming more relevant to the communities Archant serves.
Attendees also heard from Chief HR and Development Officer, Dee Willmott, who discussed the importance of staff engagement and the hard work which is taking place in this area to ensure that the company’s employees are proud to work for Archant – a statement which was confirmed in a recent Employee Engagement Survey. Speaking of the importance of engaging the staff, Dee said “We have some great products and brands but it is our people who make the real difference “.
Jeff Henry ended the day by sharing the focus for 2016 where, having built on a strong 2015, Archant moves to drive growth with increased digital, content and customer engagement taking Archant closer to its goal of being the best local media company in the UK by 2017.
