On Wednesday 9 November, companies from around Norfolk were given quick-fire lessons in the art of public relations and HR at a masterclass event hosted by EDP Business.
Two sessions were held at The Forum in Norwich and offered business leaders an insight into how to get the best from their teams and how to market their businesses effectively by choosing the right channels.
Hayley Mace (Head of Communications at the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership) urged the 40-strong afternoon audience to follow 10 simple steps to sharpen up their PR strategy.
“Lots of people think public relations is a really scary term: they think it’s about government spin doctors and expensive advertising campaigns. It’s not about that – with time and effort and a bit of imagination you can all use PR to the benefit of your business” she said.
Other speakers included Clive White and Amanda Bunn of Media Managers, and Archant Dialogue’s Alan Dykes.
Delegates at the morning HR session heard from Jane Rodger (HR and Communications Manager at NWES), Paul Sheldrake and Joseph O’Sullivan (Managers from Pure Resourcing Solutions) and Archant's Chief HR Officer, Dee Willmott - who talked about “Engaging for Growth”.
