On Thursday 5 November, guests gathered for the 2015 Devon Life Food and Drink Awards – designed to celebrate and promote excellence, and recognise the achievements of local producers in the Devon area.
The event was held at Sandy Park in Exeter and attendees were treated to a delicious Devon-inspired three course meal (created by Denis Turner of Sandy Park), followed by bonfire-themed petit fours.
The evening’s food was matched with wines from Lily Farm Vineyard, Ale from Hanlon’s Brewery and a selection of sparkling soft drinks from Frobishers
Broadcasting legend Simon Bates, who has a breakfast show on BBC Radio Devon, presented awards to restaurateurs, tea shop owners, hoteliers, butchers and bakers from across the county – as well as Alex Murdin who was named as the winner of Devon Life and Bradburys Kitchens’ Home Cook of the Year competition.
The evening ended with a post-awards after-party where guests celebrated their successes to the sound of live band The Filthy Gorgeous.
The team at Devon Life would like to congratulations to all their winners and finalists, and thank their sponsors and compere for helping make the event the biggest and best Devon Life Food and Drink Awards to date.
