Archant Weddings asked Britain’s Got Talent star singer Wayne Woodward on a date - and he gave the proposal a great big yes.
This year’s BGT runner-up will sing six times on the weekend of 5/6 November at Bride: The Wedding Show, being held at the Crowne Plaza Resort Five Lakes in Colchester.
The performances are the first time Wayne has appeared at a major wedding show. Archant Bride’s Diana Sims arranged the engagement after realising he would be the perfect match for the event - where love is definitely in the air.
“We are thrilled to announce Wayne’s performances at Bride: The Wedding Show. As soon as the results were announced we approached him as his music is perfect for an audience of visitors who have love on their mind.
“Wayne’s specialty is swing and classic love songs and he’s an absolute charmer, so the ladies in the audience are in for a treat. It will be a great chance for brides-to-be to come along with their bridesmaids, friends and family to hear performances from one of the best new singers before he’s packing out concert halls” said Diana.
The 21-year-old singer won over Amanda Holden and the rest of the BGT panel at his first audition with his version of The Way You Look Tonight – losing out in the final to magician Richard Jones by just 2.9% of the vote.
Wayne will perform in the show café twice on each day – morning and afternoon – and then on the stage at around 2pm, just before the 2.45pm catwalks.
Bride: The Wedding Show will be held on Saturday and Sunday November 5 and 6, 2016, from 10am to 4pm at the Crowne Plaza Resort Five Lakes in Colchester and is sponsored by The Wedding Ring Gallery.
The show will host nearly 100 of the region’s finest wedding suppliers from venues to stationers, photographers to cake-makers and bridal boutiques to florists and is Essex’s must-go event for couples planning a wedding. Free copies of the new issue of Essex Bride magazine will be handed out to brides-to-be and there will be entertainment, great food, a champagne bar and show-exclusive discounts, offers and competitions.
Tickets to the show are £6 each, £10 for two or £18 for four in advance at www.theweddingshow.co.uk. Tickets are £10 each on the door.
