Archant hosts the EDP Bride Wedding Awards

Posted on

A host of Norfolk’s best wedding businesses descended on Dunston Hall in Norwich on Friday 27th January for the much-anticipated red carpet ceremony of the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards.

Designed to honour, celebrate and reward Norfolk’s best wedding suppliers, the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards received more than 300 submissions - with 130 businesses entering.

A lengthy judging process served to draw up a shortlist - before three finalists in each category were selected, notified and invited to attend the glittering awards ceremony.

Welcomed by a champagne reception, finalists were treated to an exclusive performance from vocalist, Dale Bullimore, whilst networking with their peers. This paved the way for the main event, which was opened with a speech by Archant Bride Editorial Director, Joanne Goodwin, and a second greeting from Caroline Clarke from Marry in Norfolk (the headline sponsor of the awards).

Guests enjoyed a three-course meal before the awards then got underway. Presented by the BBC’s David Whiteley, the awards invited each respective sponsor of the 13 categories onto stage to announce the winners.

The evening culminated in the Wedding Innovation Award – selected out of all the category finalists and awarded to a business who has introduced methods, ideas or products which are demonstrably new and innovative. The award went to Lou Lou Loves Vintage Hire, who also scooped Wedding Newcomer of the Year.

Commenting on the event, Louise Flynn, owner of Lou Lou Loves Vintage Hire, said “The EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards were so well organised from start to finish - and the icing on the cake was to win Wedding Newcomer of the Year and the Wedding Innovation Award. This will really raise the profile of my business.”

Diana Sims, General Manager for Archant Weddings East, said "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors, our winners and finalists. It was an absolutely amazing evening and I was overwhelmed by how the winners reacted - some breaking down in tears on stage. All their hard work over the years has been rewarded and that acknowledgment will now be life-changing as well. It is my pleasure to work in an industry of passionate and proactive businesses and people.”
