18.02.05 Norwich Evening News
The Norwich Evening News, is a paid-for evening newspaper with a circulation of 29,835.
The paper was relaunched on January 3, 2005 following a year-long study into people’s local news consumption. The research looked into how people living and working in Norwich currently access and consume news and information and how their needs are likely to change in the next few years.
It suggested that people look more to the internet and TV for breaking news stories and less to regional papers.
The new-look Norwich Evening News reflects the results of this detailed study, including more in-depth news analysis along with “snapshot” news summaries at the start of lead stories for people with little time.
The paper hopes to reflect some of the diversity of Norwich and is also more upbeat about the city and surrounding communities. Norwich Evening News now includes a weekly 12-page pull-out, Community Life, with a section focusing on sport in the community.
David Bourn, an established regional news journalist, joined the Norwich Evening News as editor in November 2000. To read more about Norwich Evening News, please visit www.eveningnews24.co.uk.
