In addition to making direct donations, Archant supports charitable fund-raising by its staff through the Archant Gold scheme, a programme of matched funding, and by part-matching staff charitable donations through the payroll GAYE scheme.

Charitable donations by the company totalled £66,000 in 2011.

The Eastern Daily Press We Care Appeal now stands at £1,045,581. EDP readers have also helped the Norfolk Community Foundation raise more than £60,000 for its Surviving Winter campaign.

The 2011 Ipswich and Suffolk Press Ball raised £16,000 for Cystic Fibrosis, The Mayor Ipswich's Charities and a township foundation in South Africa.

Ipswich Star ongoing campaign for Guide Dogs for the Blind has now raised over £30,000 to pay for four guide dogs.

The Midweek Herald in Devon sponsored a sleep out for The King's Centre Food Bank, Honiton to raise around £500.
