Archant Dialogue is a content and marketing agency and operates as part of the Archant Group, one of the UK’s leading media businesses.

Working with some great clients including Harley-Davidson, British Eventing, Porsche Club GB, Jeep, Brittany Ferries, AGA and Center Parcs, we create, curate, distribute and market content to our clients’ audiences across print, online, mobile and other interactive channels.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic assistant editor to join our growing team. Covering a diverse range of sectors, you will be working on projects involving brands from automotive, holidays and travel to equine, education and membership groups. Working in a dedicated team of editors, you will be client focused, able to prioritise your workload and have a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, as well as having one to two years’ experience in an editorial role, ideally within a marketing agency or publisher. You will support all stages of the production process, including writing, subediting and proofreading pages for print and web. You will also have experience of, or an interest in, managing multilingual content.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Checking copy to ensure it is grammatically correct, factually accurate and correctly spelt, and that it reads well and maintains house style
  • Accurately fitting text into InDesign layouts, and rewriting where necessary
  • Creating picture captions, headlines, standfirsts and pull quotes as required, under supervision from senior editors
  • Liaising with external contributors, clients and in-house teams such as designers and account managers
  • Contributing to the agency blog and podcast

Core competencies will include:

  • Editorial experience on B2B/B2C brands
  • Experience in subbing/editing copy
  • Being solution focused, a creative thinker and proactive
  • Being a good planner and organiser who can prioritise workload
  • Having excellent composure and being calm under pressure
  • Being be a good team player
  • Competence with InDesign and professional subbing marks
  • Digital literacy, and experience and interest in digital communication
