The Archant Print division
has two main printing facilities at Norwich and Ipswich and
offers a contract print service at both sites.
A £25m state-of-the-art print centre at Thorpe near Norwich was opened
in 1995 by HRH the Duke of Kent.
The pre-press area contains three thermal image CTP lines and is able to
receive transmissions of files in all formats.
The pressroom contains a 30-ft High Goss HT70 press capable
of producing tabloid newspapers of up to 192 pages with full
colour and 256 pages with spot colour on every page.
The mailroom is equipped with Muller Martini Mailroom equipment
including three Newsliners, and offers full inserting facilities
of up to four items per title. There are also two Muller Martini
Prima Stitch and Trim machines.
At Ipswich there is a single width Goss Tribune press that has the capacity
to print 128-page tabloid papers, inclusive of 32 pages of colour.
The mailroom can offer leaflet and pre-print inserting through
the Ferag inserting equipment.
